WEDNESDAY NITE LIFE
A “Community Night” that is
engaging, educational and inspirational to all ages The Program
Paraklisis in the Kartos Ballroom (Compline during Great Lent): 6:00 – 6:30 PM
Dinner in the Kartos Ballroom (Free-will offering): 6:30 – 7:10 PM
Classes (offered in various rooms of the Hellenic Center): 7:15 – 8:30 PM
Choose from a variety of classes offered:
• Adult Bible Study: Concentrating on St. Paul’s Epistle to the Romans, the class will look at
how it impacts our lives today. A section on Orthodox teaching will be included, with
opportunity for questions and discussion. Rev. Fr. Christos P. Mars (Board Room)
• An Orthodox Perspective on Various Topics: This series will cover a variety of topics
including 1) confronting and controlling our thoughts 2) living Orthodoxy in our
contemporary world 3) science vs. religion and faith 4) confession-repentance and healing 5)
the Book of Revelation from an Orthodox perspective. V. Rev. Archimandrite Grigorios P.
Tatsis (Meeting Room II)
• Introduction to Byzantine Music and Chant: A survey of our traditional ecclesiastical music
including introductory lessons in chant. Discussion of different church services, the modes,
and different types of hymns. Options are to learn chant notation or chant from Western
musical notation. No knowledge of Greek required. Dr. Constantine Kokenes (Parlor)
• “Road to Orthodoxy”: This course is designed for people interested in embracing the Orthodox
Faith, as well as for those who would like to “brush up” on their rudimentary knowledge of the
Orthodox faith. Mr. Steve Johnson (Kafenion)
• Growing the Marriage Seeds: For the Engaged and Newly Married (up to 10 years): This
class is designed for couples preparing for marriage or are newly married who desire to gain
skills and insight into what creates a healthy and enriching relationship within the holiness of
